Cassie Randolph Attacks Colton Underwood for Trying to "Monetize" Break-Up

We think we speak for all of Bachelor Nation when we say it was depressing enough when Cassie Randolph and Colton Underwood broke up.

But now?

Now that Randolph has trashed Underwood online for the way he’s suddenly handling and publicizing the split?

We don’t even know what to say or feel.

This simply sucks.

On Thursday, the former Bachelor lead spoke out about his break-up from Cassie for the first time in detail on Instagram — not counting his initial statement on the end of the romance.

“These last few weeks have been challenging because, by now, you all know I’m an open book and I enjoy sharing my life with y’all,” wrote the ex-virgin to open a lengthy caption.

Continued Colton:

“When our relationship ended we agreed to handle things as privately as possible as we attempted to navigate our new relationship as friends.

“I chose to do that since we were living in this interim period, but obviously a lot changed this week. Every experience provides us with an opportunity for growth.”

To what is Colton referencing? What “changed this week?”

We’re assuming Underwood is citing Cassie’s appearance Monday night on The Bachelor — The Greatest Seasons Ever!, during which she talked to Chris Harrison about the break-up.

“I think going through any breakup is really hard but going through one in public comes with a whole new set of challenges,” Randolph said on air.

“I’ve never gone through any of this before, so we’re both kind of learning to navigate it. We’re on good terms and hanging in there.”

Not too revealing, right?

And yet: Colton appears very upset that Cassie went on the program and discussed him at all.

“If you’ve been kind enough to have followed our story you’ve been with us through all of the ups and downs which have taught me so many lessons,” added Underwood in his latest post, concluding:

“I’ve come to realize when you’re in the thick of it you just need to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective, in doing so I have gained so much clarity about what I want and more importantly what I need in a relationship.

“I’m so excited for this next chapter of my life with new stories and new people.

“I can’t thank y’all enough for your understanding and your support during this time. Your messages mean a lot!”

Randolph, meanwhile, clearly saw Colton’s message… and proceeded to BLAST her ex online.

She told followers about a private discussion she recently had with Underwood and accused him now of trying to exploit their split for fame and fortune.

“I would like to state that I do not wish to create an online petty war,” wrote Cassie last night on her Instagram Stories.

“Colton, as you know we made an agreement to not publicly discuss our break up. I have honored this, as have you thus far,” she added.

Randolph then explained that she only participated in the aforementioned interview with Harrison out of recognition of the “platform” The Bachelor gave her and because she didn’t “see any harm” in doing so.

“I don’t want to make enemies with, or turn my back on the franchise,” she continuing as follows:

“Colton, your last Instagram post saddened me, but also left me frustrated.

“It seems you are subtly engaging in a tactic that peppers in aggressive comments such as ‘that obviously changed this week’ in order to make me look like the bad one.”

She sort of has a point, don’t you think?

no petty

Randolph, who has confessed to struggling big time with the split, had a lot more to say on this topic.

She asked for Colton to “refrain” from discussing their romance and to “not cloud” their “great relationship” with a “messy breakup,” adding that she and Colton had a chat that left her feeling “frustrated” before she appeared on ABC.

This chat evidently took place right before her exchange with Harrison aired.

And it centered on Underwood’s alleged claim that he would be revising his recently-released memoir to touch on the former couple’s break-up.

“On Monday evening, you informed me you intend to monetize our breakup by writing a new chapter to discuss your experience with COVID (where you stayed in my family’s house during your recovery & about our breakup,” Cassie wrote.

“You have also refused to give me any sort of approval on the chapter you will be writing, which will heavily feature me… This seems a bit unfair to me.

“Colton, you can do what you want, but please do not have a double standard.”

To conclude her epic clapback, Cassie expressed well wishes for Colton and also the hope that this statement would be the last word on the matter.

For whatever it’s worth, a rep for Colton told E! News — seemingly referring to Randolph’s claim that Colton will edit his book to give his thoughts on this split — said the following:

“Her accusations are simply not true.”
